Restoration, Protection and Maintenance of Floors in High-Traffic Areas

Context

In professional spaces with heavy foot and goods traffic, floors are subject to continuous wear. The combination of frequent circulation, regular cleaning and external agents causes loss of shine, residue buildup and progressive degradation of the protective layer.

In these contexts, a planned intervention becomes essential to restore the floor and extend its useful life.

The Technical Challenge

The floor showed:

  • accumulated layers of old wax
  • dull, uneven appearance
  • loss of surface protection
  • greater difficulty in daily cleaning

The goal was to restore appearance, even out the surface and recreate a resistant protective film, while minimizing impact on the space’s operations.

Technical Approach

An intervention was defined during low-traffic hours, based on three key stages:

  1. Deep stripping
  2. New protection through waxing
  3. Polishing and maintenance

Each phase was carried out with specific Mistolin Pro products, adjusted to the floor type and the space’s requirements.

Applied Process

1. Floor stripping
Full removal of old waxes and accumulated dirt, preparing the surface for new protection.
Product used: BEDECAP HDC-30 → Wax stripper for hard floors.

2. Waxing and protection
Application of a new protective acrylic film, suited to the floor type, ensuring traffic resistance and uniform finish.

Products used:

  • BECRILAR HCA-80 (soft and hard floors)
  • BEWOOD HCM-50 (wooden floors)

3. Polishing and maintenance
Reactivation of shine and evening out of the protective layer, ensuring the durability of the treatment and easing daily maintenance.
Product used: PAVTOTAL HLE-30

Result

After the intervention, the floor showed:

  • uniform appearance with controlled shine
  • protected surface, more resistant to wear
  • easier daily cleaning
  • immediate improvement to the image of the space

The process restored the floor without replacement, extending its useful life and reducing medium-term operational costs.

Conclusion

The right combination of product, method and intervention timing is key to floor performance in professional environments.

A structured approach — stripping, protection and maintenance — delivers consistent, long-lasting results aligned with the demands of high-traffic areas.
